Turkey Chili

Turkey chili is hearty, nutritious, and, most importantly, warm! It's is a great meal to make ahead and freeze for a quick, high-protein lunch or dinner.

Turkey Chili


  • 1 tsp olive oil

  • 1.5 lbs of lean ground turkey meat

  • 1 medium white onion, chopped

  • 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped

  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped (we get them already chopped in a jar)

  • 1.5 tsp ground cumin

  • 1 tbsp chili powder

  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

  • 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans or pinto, drained (get low sodium)

  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce (no sugar added variety)

  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley


  1. Heat oil in large sauce pan over medium heat. Add Turkey, onion, bell pepper, and garlic

  2. Cook stirring occasionally, for 10 min or until turkey is no longer pink.

  3. Add cumin, chili powder, salt and cayenne pepper. Stir and cook for 1 min

  4. Stir in kidney beans and tomato sauce, bring to boil

  5. Reduce heat to low and gently simmer, stir occasionally for 15-20 min or until thickened

  6. Serve warm and top with 1/4 avocado and fresh diced tomatoes (not included in caloric numbers)

  7. Calories: 288 calories in 1 cup
